We Put an End to Unwanted Activity Behind a Shopping Center
A couple was seen having a heated discussion behind a shopping center just before 8:15 p.m. on an August night. Our trained security operator was alerted of the unusual activity, assessed the situation, and called the police. Officers arrived to question and search the suspects. After 30 minutes of interrogation, they arrested the male.
Video analytics makes it possible to automatically detect specific activities without human intervention, such as loiterers at a shopping center. When a defined event is detected, a security operator is notified to further analyze the situation and take appropriate action.
Video analytics can also be customized to solve unique issues. For example, retailers can use it to count customers and traffic patterns. Manufacturing companies can tie the technology into heat sensors to monitor the temperature inside their facility. Office buildings can use analytics as part of their access control system to track personnel during emergencies by gathering information generated from swiped access cards.
There are many other uses for video analytics, all with key advantages like helping to reduce or eliminate guard costs, lowering the number of false alarms that are generated and optimizing operational processes.
