Shopping Center Rooftop Trespasser Arrested with Helicopter
A commercial roof is a great place to hide and steal copper or damage tenant units ... unless the property has proactive video surveillance and the police send a helicopter.
At 3:38am a trespasser jumps up to grab a ladder at the back of a Dallas, Texas shopping center. A Stealth Monitoring live surveillance operator activates a speaker warning. The trespasser ignores it and climbs on to the roof.
Stealth calls the local Dallas Police. Stealth watches the outside of properties and can see and act on suspicious behavior long before other services that wait on a beam or sensor to be tripped inside a building. Stealth live video monitoring can help deter and reduce rooftop copper thieves, as well as other vandalism, tenant break-ins, and property damage.
Rooftop intruders can cause expensive damage to both the property and tenants. Heating and air conditioning units can be damaged for copper theft or even stolen whole. Stores can be broken into from rooftop hatches and vents where thieves have free reign to steal cash and merchandise, and easily break through drywall to reach other stores.
The Dallas Police arrive quickly and provide helicopter support because our call is a report of a live crime in progress. The police dispatch Air One to help find the rooftop suspect. The helicopter searchlight can be seen on the roof and ground below.
The suspect climbs down where a Dallas Police officer is waiting to subdue and arrest him. The police collect evidence and inspect the property.
