This commercial real estate company is a Stealth Monitoring client. The following commercial property unfortunately isn’t. The shopping center location and gun store didn’t have proactive live video surveillance and suffered an expensive crime.
A Georgia gun store had a commercial real estate security system. But it wasn’t enough to stop this smash and grab crime. A Honda Acura crashed through the business at 4:50am on a Sunday morning. The Honda destroyed the outside of the store. Windows, doors, and parts of the concrete wall were caved in or obliterated.
The suspects were not deterred even though the damage activated the commercial real estate security alarm. The security cameras recorded three suspects running out of the Honda. The thieves stole 30 to 35 rifles from the gun store, including AR-15s and other semi-automatic rifles. The value of the stolen merchandise was estimated at $70,000. The thieves left the shopping center property within 50 seconds of arrival.
The local Newnan police quickly arrived at the commercial property, less than 20 seconds after the thieves left. The police found the thieves’ Honda Acura abandoned at a nearby industrial park. The co-owner of the gun shop said it appeared that the thieves had turned into a dead-end. The suspects ran through the woods where they left behind several guns.
