Middle-of-the-Night Trespasser Tugging on Door Handles

Posted by Blake Mitchell on Jun 4, 2021

At approximately 2:45 in the morning, a Stealth Monitoring security operator spotted someone walking around an apartment parking lot tugging on vehicle door handles. Our operator called the security guard on duty, however there was no answer. The monitoring operator then called to dispatch local police.

The suspect continued around the lot and was successful in opening the trunk of one of the cars. Responding officers arrived as the individual was crouching behind the car. He then took off running as did the police. Officers caught up to the trespasser and took him into custody.

Criminals see a lot of potential in a parking garage or lot filled with unattended vehicles. Your residents can do their part by making sure their cars are locked and valuables are safely inside their apartments. You can take it a step further by implementing an effective security solution.

Stealth Monitoring’s live video surveillance has been successful at deterring and reducing crime by proactively monitoring cameras
for up to 60% less
than traditional security guards. Our operators watch properties in real time and can call to dispatch police, activate speakers, as well as contact security guards or your team to respond to criminal and unwanted activity.

Because guards can only be in one place at a time, they can only see what is directly in front of them or in the near vicinity. Our operators watch multiple cameras simultaneously to cover more ground. As you saw in this video, as is also the case in many other incidents, officers arrived while the suspect was still on the scene.
