Audio Warning Deterred Suspects at Business Park

Posted by Rick Charney on May 3, 2022

It’s important that your office park is a safe environment for the people who work and visit there. As an owner or operator, it’s your responsibility to take the right steps to secure these valuable assets. By not doing so, you could be inviting nefarious activity.

Around 4:40 in the morning, a white van backed into a parking spot at a business park. A group of people exited the van and were seen walking through the shrubbery away from the vehicle. A Stealth Monitoring security operator was watching and sounded the on-site speaker warning. The suspects returned to the van and quickly exited the property.

In addition to activating the speaker warning, our operator called the security guard on duty and left a voicemail. Police were also called. Officers could be seen in the video arriving at the property later to investigate.

Reduce and Deter Criminal Activity at Your Business Park with a Proactive Security Solution

Any security threat to your property is a serious issue. That’s why it’s important to have a comprehensive security strategy in place. By being proactive, you can help reduce the chances of becoming a victim a crime.

Live video monitoring is a proactive security solution that can help to significantly decrease criminal activity such as break-ins, theft, vandalism and damage. Trained security operators, located safely in a remote monitoring center, watch live, analytics-based cameras that are strategically placed around your property. If they see anything that falls outside of the pre-programmed parameters, they can quickly act. And unlike a guard or courtesy patrol who can only be in one place at a time, we can watch multiple areas of the property simultaneously.

As you saw in the video, our security operator activated an on-site speaker warning, called the guard on duty, as well as contacted police. In many cases, the audio warning is enough to scare the intruders away, as it did in this instance.

When police receive a call from us, they know we are watching a live crime, so they typically elevate its priority level. This often results in officers arriving while the suspects are still at or near the property. If suspects do manage to get away, our team of video analysts can examine hours of footage from all relevant cameras to provide video evidence of the incident to police.
