Earlier this month, Stealth published an article about security guard liability that was based on a year-long investigation by CNN and the Center of Investigative Reporting. The article stated that there is no federal standard for armed security guards. Armed guards can carry guns without training in 15 states. Nine states don’t require mandatory criminal background checks. In some cases, security guards have been charged with domestic violence or disciplinary issues from previous employers. Video Monitoring is a Proactive and Safe Approach to Dallas Apartment Security

In a previous ‘Catch of the Month,’ Stealth helped Dallas Police locate a gunman at a Class A residential community. Trained apartment security operators can safely assess a situation from a distance. When they saw the suspect pull out a gun, they immediately called Dallas Police. Video monitoring operators followed the suspect’s movements via strategically placed surveillance cameras and were able to update responding officers with real-time information. The suspect was arrested before the situation escalated.
