Real-Time Arrest of Pair Trespassing on Construction Site

Posted by Paul Gross on January 26, 2022

An unmanned construction site is an invitation for trespassers. These uninvited guests can cause significant damage to your project, as well as potential injury to themselves. In this video, a dynamic duo climbed structures, crossed the site, and landed right into police custody.

A Stealth Monitoring security operator was alerted to two individuals on a construction site after hours. The pair entered the site and climbed the scaffold of the crane before descending it moments later. Our operator was watching this dangerous activity and called to dispatch local police.

The couple continued to trespass around the site under the watchful eyes of our monitoring operator. The trespassers entered one of the portable toilets, then exited and headed towards the perimeter fence. Unable to crawl under it, they scaled it and jumped to the other side.

Responding officers were waiting for them in the adjacent parking lot. The intruders were instructed to lie face down on the pavement so police could make an arrest.

Potential Injury and Damage Can Result from Trespassers

No matter what entices someone to enter a construction site after hours, whether it’s to steal valuable materials, attempt daring feats or just curiosity, the outcome could be detrimental. One of the most effective ways to help deter trespassers is to make it make it difficult for them to carry out their acts.

Remote video monitoring is a proactive security solution, designed to deter unwanted activity before damage can happen. Trained security professionals monitor analytics-based cameras to watch for suspicious activity. Should something happen, the technology in the cameras will alert the operator who can jump into action.

In this video, our operator saw the trespassers, assessed the situation and quickly acted by calling police. Video verification lets police know there is a crime in progress which tends to elevate the priority level. Often, officers will arrive while the suspects are still on the scene, as was the case here.
