Realcomm 2018 celebrated its 20th anniversary in Las Vegas, Nevada with more than 2,000 corporate real estate industry leaders from all over the world. The event, whose theme focused on the technology-driven evolution of the industry, provided networking opportunities and workshops that educated professionals about the latest business solutions to improve their commercial real estate operations. CBRE President and CEO Bob Sulentic elaborated, “The pace of digital innovation, and more importantly, the pace of adoption has never been so fast—and it’s never been so impactful.”
Realcomm 2018 attendees were able to speak with exhibitors about ways to improve their corporate properties. Stealth Monitoring’s Chief Operating Officer, David Charney, participated in a pre-conference session, as well as in the Smart Building System Showcase. He spoke about how video surveillance can be used as a physical security solution for commercial properties all over the United States and Canada. Video surveillance involves more than just security cameras, because on their own, cameras aren’t always enough to deter criminal activity. Stealth’s live video monitoring solution involves a team of trained security operators who monitor multiple video cameras simultaneously in real time. Video analytics software, located in the camera, can be set up with specific parameters that can target people and vehicles in a given area. If an activity occurs outside of those parameters, the system will automatically alert an operator who can take appropriate action.
The video below shows how analytics tracks the movement path and counts the number of people entering the building.
Realcomm 2018 provided commercial real estate leaders with valuable experiences and information to help improve their operations. It was an honor to be part of the 20th anniversary celebration.
