Construction Trespasser Tracked by PTZ Camera Tries to Outrun Police

Posted by Paul Gross on Aug 9, 2021

Construction sites contain a variety of equipment, materials and tools that contractors need to protect. Trespassers, thieves and vandals see these seemingly unprotected sites as an opportunity to steal and cause damage. However, the right security solution can help safeguard your valuable assets.

In this video, two people were seen approaching the perimeter fence of a Seattle construction site. The pair easily climbed over it and into the site. The began to stroll around while one of our trained security operators called to dispatch police.

Our operator continued to watch the trespassers. At one point, the female found a spot behind a building under construction, pulled down her pants and relieved herself. She quickly dressed again, picked up her bag and continued her search around the site.

When Seattle police arrived, the male managed to flee the scene. The female trespasser tossed her bag over the fence, then jumped over it herself and tried to escape. However, officers were able to intercept her and place her under arrest.

Improve your Construction Site Security with Remote Video Monitoring

One of the most effective ways to help protect your construction site is with remote video monitoring. Security operators, located in a remote monitoring center, use analytics-based surveillance cameras to watch your construction site when no one is there. If they see something suspicious, such as two people hopping the perimeter fence, they can act quickly. In this video, that meant contacting local police as soon as our operator witnessed the trespassers. This led to a quick response and apprehension.

With the cost of materials continuing to rise, it’s more important than ever to have an effective security solution in place. If you are interested in learning more about remote video monitoring for your business, contact us.
