Breaking and Entering at Car Lot

Posted by Blake Mitchell on Dec 16, 2020

Just after 1:00 in the morning, three people were seen at an auto center attempting to access several cars in the lot. They were successful at breaking into one of the vehicles. A Stealth security operator was watching and called to dispatch police. When officers arrived, the suspects tried to hide. Two law enforcement officers were seen walking one of the suspects out of the property.

If you own a business in the auto industry, chances are many of your assets sit out in the open. Afterall, keeping vehicles locked inside a warehouse isn’t an option. So how do you protect them from theft and vandalism?

Live video monitoring can help keep valuable assets safe. Trained security operators monitor analytics-based cameras to watch for suspicious activity in real time. If they see something, they can immediately assess the situation and determine how to proceed. This can include activating an on-site speaker, warning the trespassers they are being watched and calling local authorities.

Because police know we are watching crimes in progress, they typically escalate the priority level which often results in an arrest while the suspects are still on the property.
