A cloudy Friday evening in September was the setting for the second in a series of events to help build safer neighborhoods in Arlington, Texas. Arlington police were joined by other first responders and representatives from Stealth Monitoring at Carl Knox Park for a fun-filled night.
The event included hot dogs, a shaved iced truck and many activities for families to enjoy like face painting, a petting zoo, pony rides, a bounce house, inflatable slide and a video game trailer sponsored by Stealth. Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern and several of their superhero friends were also on-hand for photo opportunities.
Arlington police are working hard to build safer neighborhoods around their city. For nearly a year, Stealth Monitoring has partnered with the APD, an alliance that began because of incidents at the Las Lomas Apartment community, namely weekly shootings, a high level of theft and gang activity. After they spotted one of our signs, they asked for video, which we gladly supplied.
In the past year, Stealth has assisted the Arlington police with three shootings, multiple break-ins and the biggest catch, helping to nab a ring of car thieves. One of our trained operators provided officers with such detailed information, they caught the trio of suspects in another part of the city.
Outreach events like the one at Carl Knox Park are helping the APD to bond with the communities in which they serve, eliminating tensions between the residents and officers. Because of the joint effort between Stealth and the Arlington police department, crime has decreased.
