For 10 years Sidney Sommer, Founder/Managing Director at
Stealth Monitoring, has been an advocate for Habitat for Humanity. Founded in
1976 in Americus, Georgia, Habitat provides a unique homeownership program, in
which families help build their own homes alongside volunteers and pay an
affordable mortgage.
Stealth Monitoring is North America’s leading provider of
live video monitoring solutions. In addition to commercial real estate
properties with outdoor assets, their clients include construction sites, which
makes their involvement with Habitat for Humanity a natural fit.
In the company’s early days, Sidney installed cameras at Habitat’s sites at no charge. Now, 10 years later, that partnership has evolved. The Habitat organization pays for Stealth’s service. Then, at the end of the year, Stealth gives the money right back to the nonprofit, which in 2018, totaled $10,000. Since 2014, a group of Stealth employees has also been volunteering at a Habitat site. This past year, the group assisted in building front steps at a group of townhouses.
Habitat for Humanity believes everyone deserves a decent and safe place to live. Providing security is what Stealth does best. For over a decade, Stealth has specialized in proactive and intelligent video monitoring technology that can significantly improve threat detection and police response. Trained security operators monitor key areas of a property in real time, to help prevent crimes before they happen. If they see anything suspicious, they can activate speakers at unwanted trespassers and call police with live reports on the criminals.
“Helping to keep the world safe is at the heart of everything we do at Stealth,” says Sidney. “Habitat for Humanity is a wonderful organization that makes home ownership possible for those who would not otherwise be able to afford it. We are proud to help build safe places for families to live.”
