Storefront Damage Across Shopping Center in New Mexico
Vandals in Albuquerque, New Mexico caused storefront damage to several businesses around 3:00 a.m. One owner said the vandals picked up landscaping rocks and threw them at clothing stores, restaurants, banks, and record shops.
The full extent of storefront damage was seen the next morning. Taped windows, boarded-up display window spaces, and shattered front doors could be seen across Nob Hill.
Another business owner said he didn’t understand how a person from the area could do this to local establishments.
The rocks were part of a landscaping plan to help filter debris after harsh weather. City officials are rethinking their plan. They also told contractors to refrain from using landscaping rocks for any other portion of their project. Local police asked the business owners to submit any available surveillance video of the incident.
