According to Neighborhood Scout, the chances of becoming a victim of property crime in San Diego are 1 in 55. When these two late night trespassers hopped a locked gate to access the parking facilities of a downtown luxury apartment complex, they looked to be planning on victimizing residents of the building. What they hadn’t anticipated was that Stealth Monitoring’s trained security professionals were watching.
At 2:10 a.m., two individuals were noticed by a Stealth security operator trespassing in the area of the locked parking facilities entrance at a San Diego luxury apartment building. After a moment of scoping out the scene, one of the individuals is seen climbing over the gate. Stealth’s operator immediately contacted the security officer on site, and due to the nature of the trespass, local police were dispatched to the scene as well.
Responding officers were observed patrolling the area shortly after, and the individuals were taken into custody in the vicinity of the building, but outside of the property.
Help Protect Your Residents from Property Crime and Other Security Concerns
Effective security solutions are critical in the management of multifamily residential properties. Not only is perceived safety and security a major factor when residents are selecting a place to live, but online reputation can be severely damaged when residents don’t feel that they and their vehicles are secure at home. Even a few minor incidents, when reported online, can cause concern.
Live video monitoring can help prevent incidents of theft, vandalism, and other unwanted or criminal activity at your multifamily community. Live video surveillance is a proactive security solution that uses a combination of analytics-based cameras and human intelligence to watch for more than just movement. When suspicious activity is detected, our monitoring professionals follow site protocols to contact on-site security, sound on-site alarms, or contact local law enforcement when necessary.
Thanks to the ability to provide police dispatch with up-to-the-minute information about criminal activity in progress, call priority is often elevated, and police typically respond on-site quickly. This means they’re often able to catch suspects while they’re still in the area, just like in the video above.
