Criminal Caught Crawling Under Cars

Posted by Tammy Miller on Jun 22, 2020

In this month’s video, a suspect is seen searching under parked cars with a flashlight.

Around 11:30 p.m., a Stealth Monitoring security operator saw an individual in the parking lot of an apartment community lying on the ground. The suspect was searching under a vehicle with a flashlight. He then moved to the adjacent car and searched underneath it. Apparently not finding what he was looking for, the suspect got up, picked up his bag and walked across the lot.

Our operator contacted local police.

The suspect approached a silver van and placed his bag inside. He proceeded to walk around the parking lot, stopping to examine a white truck. Officers arrived, intercepted the individual and placed him under arrest. A tow truck arrived on the property and took the suspect’s van away.

Car Parts Can Yield Big Bucks

Cars are made of many valuable parts. Today’s vehicles are loaded with expensive technology and accessories that criminals can steal and sell on the black market. What’s being taken? Here’s a short list of just some of the items than are proving to be lucrative.

  • Catalytic converters
  • Tires and rims
  • Portable GPS systems
  • Media devices
  • Truck tailgates

As you can see, a parking lot filled with possibilities can be very tempting to a thief.
