Gate Damage Caused by Trespasser

Posted by Jamie Lynch on Mar 22, 2021

In this month’s video, a suspect carrying wire cutters is spotted damaging the gate at a California apartment community.

Around 4:15 in the morning, a Stealth Monitoring security operator spotted a man wearing a black hoodie, shorts and a backpack walking around an apartment community in California. He was carrying a pair of wire cutters. The suspect approached a gate and began cutting part of the frame. Our operator activated the on-site speaker warning multiple times, then contacted the police.

The individual could be seen walking away from the gate, but he returned moments later carrying a bicycle. He exited the property. Our security operator gave police a description of the suspect, as well as his last whereabouts.

Within minutes, a police car arrived. A second one entered just behind it. Officers had apprehended the suspect on the street. They searched the property again. The suspect was transferred to another patrol car then taken away.

Dealing with Multifamily Security Concerns

Multifamily communities are challenged with a variety of security concerns. Among them are theft, loitering, vandalism and property damage. Many of these can be detrimental and put management at risk.

A proper security solution can proactively identify potential risks and help keep issues from escalating. With live video monitoring, trained security operators watch analytics-based cameras in real time. If the operator sees something suspicious, they can quickly assess the situation and act accordingly. This includes activating an on-site speaker warning and calling to dispatch police.

Stealth’s remote security services have been used at communities throughout North America to augment or even replace tradition guard services. A majority of these properties have been able to save up to 60 percent on their security expenses with more effective results.
