In this month’s featured video, an early morning fight at an apartment complex sends one man to the hospital.

At 10:13 p.m., a man in a white shirt walks out of a Dallas, Texas multifamily apartment building. A second male in a dark shirt runs into the apartment corridor. The first male walks toward the complex parking lot. The male in the dark shirt returns to the night video monitoring camera’s view. He is followed by a group of people. The suspect in the white shirt begins chasing a shirtless male through the parking lot. A Stealth Monitoring live surveillance operator calls Dallas Police.

No multifamily apartment complex wants a reputation for violent activity. Many of them utilize video camera systems, but rarely are they being watched live. Simply recording events with live surveillance and police contact does little to protect the property and its tenants.

The shirtless male trips while running. The first suspect attempts to strike him, but the shirtless man gets up and runs away. A group of spectators follows the fight. Dallas Police arrive at the property. The shirtless fighter is taken away on a stretcher. Dallas Police place a suspect into the backseat of the squad car.

Stealth Monitoring’s proactive apartment security surveillance can help protect multifamily apartment complexes when your staff goes home. If our trained night video monitoring operators see unusual activity, they can activate a warning speaker and if necessary, call the local police. A verified crime in progress can lead to quicker police response time and often an arrest while the suspects are still on your property.

Protect Your Property This Holiday Season

Reported incidents of holiday crime and theft increase between Thanksgiving and New Year’s Day. A veteran Philadelphia police officer said thieves usually target women and senior citizens because it is assumed they won’t fight back. Criminals tend to break into places where they think they won’t be confronted or stopped, like warehouses and shopping centers.

Seven of the largest malls in the Portland area were hit by over 400 crimes between November 28 and January 1.

Another holiday crime occurred at a homeless shelter in New York. Burglars stole more than 1,000 gifts intended for homeless children.

A monitored surveillance system can help protect your commercial property from holiday crime and theft.
