In this month’s video, a group of teens decided to have some good, clean fun inside a auto dealership’s car wash.
Our Stealth Monitoring security operator witnessed five individuals on the lot of a Texas car dealership after hours. The group made their way to the on-site carwash.
Auto dealerships present unique security challenges. Not only is much of their inventory on display outside, there are also plenty of other assets to protect, including vehicle parts, computers, cash registers, key fobs and even car washes.
After gathering a few chairs, the group went inside. While this activity was going on, our operator contacted local police.
When officers arrived, the trespassers took off on foot. Officers patrolled the area in search of the suspects. A K-9 unit searched the property and located the teens.
Auto Dealership Security Challenges
A dealership may have multiple entrances and exits, as well as multiple areas inside that are restricted to customers. Many locations have on-site carwashes, as you saw in the video.
As you can see, a dealership can be a complex place to secure. A common solution some auto dealerships take is to use on-site security guards or patrol services.
