Santa Ana Apartment Complex Robberies

Posted by Chris O' Rourke on May 18, 2015

Three suspects are being sought out in several apartment complex robberies in Santa Ana in the Los Angeles area. The suspects took apart the mailboxes in the complex in order to steal objects inside. They used a Volvo and a Ford as their getaway vehicles

The multifamily housing complex at suffered the thefts last February. The thieves, including a man in a hood, simply used a crowbar to gain access to a series of mailboxes. Another accomplice helped stuff the revealed mail into a large bag.

This was the first in the series of apartment complex robberies. The thieves have hit the same complex three times on different floors starting in late January.

Surveillance video actually showed the whole scene unfold, including a man in a hood, another man, and a woman. Unfortunately, the complex didn’t appear to use a live surveillance service, so all of this was only available after the fact.

Additionally, it wasn’t only the mailboxes that they hit. The burglars also hit cars in the parking structures attached to the complex as well. Local police officers are concerned that the threesome could have hit other complexes nearby who just didn’t report it.

The apartment complex robberies happen during the least active hours of the day, specifically between 1 AM and 6 AM. It also appears that the robbers are well-practiced at what they do since they are in and out within minutes.

The video even includes what type of cars they used to get away, a Ford Mustang with white coloring and a Volvo station wagon.

The first man is thought to be thirty or so, with a height of around 6 feet. He’s bald and is heavily built. The second man is in his twenties and shorter, closer to 5 feet and 5 inches. The last suspect is a woman in her twenties who is around the same height.
