Even the most secure multifamily residential communities can be easily accessed when unauthorized persons use simple methods, like tailgating and piggybacking, to circumvent locked entries and access gates.
Watch as this tailgater waits for a vehicle to head into a gated multifamily parking facility before sneaking in behind them- without noticing that Stealth’s surveillance was watching.
At approximately 10:30 at night, Stealth security operators caught sight of a person on foot approaching the access gate at a Southern California apartment community’s parking garage. The individual was wearing a hooded sweatshirt with the hood pulled up, obscuring their face. They then sat down on the concrete curb next to the gate and appeared to wait. After a car approached and entered the garage, the trespasser quickly snuck in behind them under the gate. Operators immediately activated the onsite audible warning alarm and contacted local law enforcement due to the nature of the activity being observed. Responding officers arrived at the property and located the trespasser inside the garage and placed them into custody.
Live Video Monitoring Can Help Resolve Security Concerns in Real Time
Surveillance cameras and gates alone are often simply not enough to deter and disperse criminal and other unwanted activity. As this video clearly shows- enterprising thieves, trespassers, loiterers, and vagrants will find ways around these kinds of security measures. While surveillance can sometimes help solve a mystery after the fact, it’s ultimately a passive security measure without live monitoring.
Live video monitoring, however, is a proactive security measure that can help intervene in criminal activity in real time. Rather than simply passively recording activities, Stealth’s live video monitoring solution uses a combination of cutting-edge video analytics to watch for activity, and trained security professionals to monitor that activity and act when they spot something or someone out of place as it’s happening, in real time.
Stealth’s highly trained staff monitor key areas throughout your property. Suspicious activity spotted? Security operators can activate audible warnings, which is often more than enough to cause criminals to go running. When alarms aren’t enough, we can contact local law enforcement, who typically elevate our call priority thanks to our ability to provide live, up-to-the-minute details of crimes in progress.
