Stealth shopping center surveillance operators are trained to be able to identify suspicious behavior. Suspicious behavior can include loitering at a shopping center well after the businesses have closed for the night. Stealth’s customized security solution can watch shopping centers, shopping malls, strip malls, medical malls, and a variety of other commercial properties.

Trespassing Juveniles Scared Away by On-Site Speaker

Two minors on bikes arrived at a shopping center about 3:00am. Children out at this time are suspicious in itself. They repositioned themselves and their bikes to look inside the closed business. The juveniles talked among themselves and pointed at something inside the store. A shopping center surveillance operator activated the on-site speaker warning. After a few seconds, the juveniles hopped on their bikes and rode off the property. The shopping center surveillance operator followed their movements with outdoor security cameras.

The United States Government classifies juveniles as persons under the age of 18 years-old. In 2012, FBI statistics showed there was a property crime index of 295,400. This is made up of burglary, larceny theft, motor vehicle theft, and arson.

One incident of property crime took place in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Two juveniles were arrested for $42,000 worth of damage to a shopping center. According to the shopping center surveillance video, the suspects gained access to the roof and destroyed several HVAC systems, refrigeration systems, CO2 tanks and breaker boxes. The local police thanked the public for tips about the suspects’ identities.

Another case of property crime took place in Imperial Beach, California. Imperial Beach is in San Diego Country. The impacted shopping center was not open for business yet. According to the sheriff’s department, at least two fast food stores were vandalized late at night. Windows were smashed while the drive-thru menu touch screen was shattered. Residents hope that shopping surveillance video caught important information about the vandals.

Neither of the victim shopping centers are not Stealth clients.
