Wichita KS can suspend alarm response under new city ordinance

93 percent of Wichita, Kansas’s almost 20,000 police and fire alarm 911 calls were false. 4,000 licensed alarm businesses have already been fined over $800,000. But it’s had little impact. Now the city is getting serious about it. Under a new city ordinance police and fire departments can decide not to respond to users with a history of false alarms.
