Trespassing on a construction site may seem like nothing more than a plain annoyance. However, these intruders could negatively impact the project. From stolen equipment and materials to damage and injury, these unwanted visitors can be costly.
In this video, a Stealth Monitoring security operator spotted two people trespassing on a snow-covered construction site just before 3:00 in the morning. Our operator immediately activated the on-site speaker warning which the suspects ignored.
While the pair continued towards an open doorway, secured with only a sheet of orange tarp, our monitoring professional called police and gave them descriptions and whereabouts of the suspects.
Minutes later, a police SUV pulled up and parked near the entrance where the intruders were last seen. An officer and a K-9 exited the vehicle and went inside the building. He was joined by another officer who arrived a short time later. Both officers were seen exiting the facility with one of the trespassers.
Help Secure Your Site from Trespassers
Your construction site can be very attractive to thieves, vandals and thrill seekers. When someone who isn’t familiar with the jobsite trespasses on it, it could prove to be dangerous for them and costly for you. Without proper procedures and an effective security solution in place, there is little you can do to keep unwanted visitors out.
Remote video surveillance works in real time to help catch activity in progress using a combination of video analytics and human intelligence. Trained monitoring operators can view multiple key areas of a jobsite simultaneously. When they see something, such as two people trespassing after hours, they can take immediate action.
Because the video verification is proof of an actual incident, police tend to elevate the priority level of the call. This often results in their arrival before the suspects have a chance to leave, cause damage, or even injure themselves.
