Construction sites, by nature, present more challenging security concerns than your average business. Securing a perimeter when it is adjacent to a railway adds yet another layer to the complexity. Watch what happened when Stealth Monitoring’s cameras caught this trespass in action:
In this video, Stealth security professionals noticed an individual trespassing on an Ottawa construction site located around a railroad track. A closer look at the camera feeds located near the office trailer revealed that the suspect was holding a knife and entered the trailer with it. The security operator immediately followed site protocol, initially attempting to reach onsite security. Security was unable to be reached, so local police dispatch was contacted. Officers arrived on the scene within minutes and successfully located, disarmed, and arrested the suspect.
Remote Video Monitoring Can Help Deter and Disperse Unwanted Activity
Just as in the case above, remote video monitoring allows for a proactive approach to security concerns. When our trained security professionals see anything out of place on our analytics-based camera feeds, they can take action according to site protocols. This often results in deterring or dispersing criminal activity before significant liabilities or damages occur.
Cameras strategically placed throughout the jobsite can be adjusted and moved as the site changes. The cameras, which are designed to detect activity rather than simple movement, are monitored in real time by trained security professionals, who are familiar with what qualifies as suspicious activity or behavior.
Like they did in the video you’ve just seen, when activity is spotted, the police can be dispatched to the site in time to stop the unwanted activity. This knife-wielding trespasser was removed from the scene and taken into custody, potentially protecting site staff and the company from injury or liability.
