An on-site office is a great way to help keep things organized on a jobsite. It can also provide a space to meet with anyone who visits the site, such as inspectors and vendors. On the flip side, it’s also quite attractive to thieves looking for valuable items that might be stored inside.
In this Arrest of the Month video, we spotted someone breaking into an on-site office trailer and called police.
Around 8:30 p.m., a Stealth Monitoring security operator observed someone climbing through the window of a construction office trailer. Our operator activated the on-site speaker to warn the trespasser he was being watched. When that was ignored, our operator called police and continued to monitor the subject’s activity. Minutes later, officers arrived, located the individual and arrested him.
Keep Your Construction Office Trailer and Other Valuable Assets Safe
In addition to providing office space and shelter for contractors and workers, jobsite office trailers are often used to help protect valuable items. However, with tools, computers, important documents, payroll and sensitive information potentially inside, they can be at risk for theft. With so much at stake, security becomes even more important.
A monitored security solution can help provide comprehensive protection for any construction site. With remote video monitoring, analytics-based cameras can be placed in strategic places around a jobsite, then monitored in real-time to help detect intrusions and other unwanted activity.
As you saw in the video, a Stealth Monitoring security professional was watching the activity at this construction site. When the intruder was seen breaking into the office trailer, our operator activated an on-site speaker warning and then called police. Officers knew right where to find the trespasser since our operator was continuing to monitor his movements and kept police informed.
Because we have video verification of a crime in progress, police typically elevate the priority of our calls and send officers as soon as possible. This often results in their arrival while the suspects are still there.
As the jobsite changes, the cameras can easily be moved to provide the best coverage. They also continue to record 24/7 so if video evidence is ever needed, our team of analysts can find the footage needed for police investigations or costly liability claims.
