Verbal Altercation at Shopping Center Turns Violent

Posted by Jamie Lynch on September 21, 2020

In this month’s video, a verbal argument between a man and a woman escalated into property damage and an arrest.

In this video, a male and female were involved in a verbal altercation behind a California retail property. It appeared to our Stealth security operator that the male was getting aggressive, as he punched the wall and kicked the back door.

Our operator activated the on-site speaker warning, which both individuals ignored. So, the monitoring operator contacted police.

The argument escalated at that point. The female suspect was seen in the front of the building kicking over a trash can. She then walked to the end of the sidewalk and threw something at a storefront window, shattering it into pieces. After a brief conversation with someone, the woman angrily walked away.

Officers arrived to examine the property damage. They located the individuals and placed the female under arrest.

The Challenges of Owning a Retail Center

Owning or managing a retail center comes with a lot of responsibility. Your tenants and their customers rely on you to provide a safe space for them to conduct business. There are plenty of risks that come with that. Property damage, theft, vandalism and injuries can all turn into financial hardship for you due to costly repairs, potential litigation and a damaged reputation.

Help Protect Your Investment with Live Video Monitoring

Live video monitoring is a proactive security solution that watches for activity in real time, to catch incidents in progress. Using a combination of advanced video analytics and human intelligence, we can help deter vandalism, damage, theft and trespassing. Our trained security operators can activate speaker warnings to let intruders know they are being watched, as well as contact local authorities.

Unlike a security guard who can only be in one place at a time, our operators are located in a remote monitoring center, safely out of harms way, and can watch multiple cameras simultaneously. That means more coverage with less liability, all while saving up to 60 percent on your security spend.
