Wireless video monitoring

The following wireless video monitoring quote was featured in the Catch of the Month newsletter: Multifamily Apartment Car Thief Arrested

“Our sites are located across the country, many in remote locations, and have always been a target for thieves. Since adopting remote monitoring services back in 2010, we have realized a significant decline in theft. Their remote monitored security solution has proven to be invaluable as well as cost efficient.”

This industrial company is a Stealth wireless video monitoring client. The following commercial properties aren’t and suffered an expensive crime.

Scrap Metal Theft in Cleveland, Ohio

The leader of the Cleveland Police Environmental Task Force said that scrap metal thieves are targeting local businesses. In the last few months more than $500,000 worth of metal was stolen from commercial properties. The Cleveland Police Sergeant said that in many cases employees stole metal from their own employers.

One suspect allegedly stole tens of thousands of dollars of aluminum sheets from his employer. The suspect easily took the stolen scrap metal to two Cleveland scrap yards.

Cleveland scrap yard companies do not ask where over 600 pounds of aluminum per year come from. Some scrap yards do take pictures of all the scrap metals brought to their industrial properties. Ohio law does not have mandatory guidelines for scrap yard purchasing.

The Ohio suspect is still at large. Cleveland Police asked the community about any information regarding the whereabouts of the suspect. Wireless video monitoring was not reported at the Ohio industrial properties.

Also from the newsletter: Philadelphia Restaurant Crime Wave

More than 100 Chinese restaurants have been targeted during a Philadelphia, Pennsylvania crime spree by armed gangs. There were no reported shopping centers and stores that had live video monitoring.
